Near the Duomo: Hotels, Food, Shops
Three directories of what is around the cathedral, built from Google Maps business data for a one-kilometre radius read on 8 September 2026 rather than from press releases. Each entry carries its address, its rating and the number of reviews behind it, and nothing on these pages is a paid placement or an affiliate link. The pattern they share is the one every cathedral square has: the closer to the facade, the higher the price and the lower the rating.

How these lists are built
Places are selected from Google Maps business data for a one-kilometre radius around the cathedral, filtered by rating and review volume, then grouped by what a visitor would actually want. Ratings and review counts are quoted as returned on the date named on each page, and they move. No business paid for inclusion, none was contacted, and the only affiliate links on this site are on the ticket pages.
The one rule that holds everywhere here
Walk two streets. The square is ringed by places that trade on the view, and the review data bears it out: the terrace bars overlooking the facade score 3.6 and 3.3 on Google, against 4.8 for the cathedral itself and 4.5 to 4.7 for the trattorias five minutes west. Pay for the view deliberately, with a drink, and eat where the locals are.
